If you look up healthy in the Webster (this is a dictionary, BTW) the definition is as follows: "Beneficial to one's physical, mental, or emotional state : conducive to health." I know that this definition of healthy is pretty vague, but what I love about it is that it suggests that everyone has a unique sense of healthy and I 100% believe in this.

For so long I spent every waking hour comparing myself to the girl next to me. My abs were never as tight, my hair was never as perfect, and my skin was never as bright. I mostly fixated on outward appearance and thought everyone was judging me, but in reality, I was the one judging me. Self-comparison and self-love are two things that I continue work on every single day and it feels so good to heal from the inside out.

Between all of the craziness that comes from raising tiny humans, I know I don’t have the luxury of calling in sick if I’m not feeling like doin’ daddy work. My “bosses” are tough like that. The photo on the left was me a few years ago. I was a new dad, and beneath that forced smile, I was tired, feeling down, and made all kinds of excuses for why my health wasn’t the way it should be. Finally I made the decision to change many of my bad habits.
